Brunswick Project: 52 Songs in 52 Weeks
Every week, Steve Cruickshank and Joel Buxton meet in Joel’s shitty kitchen, unplug the fridge, slug whiskey, and make a song. For a year.
Steve and Joel began collaborating as part of the Toronto indie rock band “Apple Pi,” and other music projects such as “Party Album.” They quickly grew to realize that they were perfectly suited to create music together.
Joel and Steve decided to apply the new show every week model of Joel’s sketch troupe “The Sketchersons,” to their music.
At the project’s completion, a crowd-funding campaign will finance the professional recording and mixing of the most popular tracks and the release of a chord book for the project’s 52 songs.
Steve Cruickshank is an award-winning musician and songwriter. He has performed as frontman for indie rock bands “Apple Pi,” and “The Party Album.” “The Brunswick Project” is the latest in a long line of self-produced music albums for Steve.
Joel Buxton is a comedy writer for Bite TV digital, a member of the award-winning sketch troupe “The Sketchersons,” and a stand-up comedian. He also wrote the cult web-comic series “Awesome Marcus Ninja,” and articles for satirical magazine “The Beaverton.”
