WEEK 8/52: Kid With Gun

Joel here. This track is a companion piece to a graphic novel I am about halfway done writing called Kid with Gun.

In the story, a virus that targets hormones in post-pubescent humans wipes out all adults in North and South America. Having spent several years holed up with their father in the experimental facility that produced the virus, Mose and David, out of supplies and options, strike west out find a way to escape their fate.

This song is the anthem of a group of child terrorists determined to infect the rest of the world, and wipe out all adults once and for all. Their group is called “Kid with Gun.”

Music / Lyrics: Joel Buxton

Production: Steve Cruickshank

God help the brother who goes it alone
Most blessed are those boys who help out their own

Crack the whip, you don’t know shit about us, (bullets clip grenade)
You don’t know what you made, (bullets clip grenade)
A couple years, and everything undone

Move over. We are, the Kid with Gun

We are, we are the kid with gun.
We are, we are the kid with gun.

Boot knife and dog fight, we keep what we kill
A box of food or two, will help ease the guilt

Keep your grief, that don`t mean too much to us, (bullets clip grenade)
Cut the shit and call a spade a spade a spade (bullets clip grenade)
A couple weeks and look what we become
We`re angry. We are , the Kid with Gun

Imagine that, look at me dad, you`re all that we had
Were all of us bad? You`re all that we knew, thought we could count on you, so far… Below par.

We are, we are the kid with gun.
We are, we are the kid with gun.
